Serena Aurora

Serena Aurora is a Virginia Tech graduate with experience across finance, startups, entrepreneurship, and business strategy. Through her work in professional environments and student leadership roles, she saw firsthand how many students feel overwhelmed by the growing gap between school and the realities of the modern world.

At BuildBetter, Serena focuses on helping students build long term direction and strategic pathways for their future. She works closely with students and families to identify goals, strengths, and opportunities that can help students stand out in increasingly competitive academic and professional environments.

This includes helping students understand:

  • which extracurriculars genuinely differentiate applications

  • what leadership opportunities to pursue

  • which competitions, certifications, and programs align with their goals

  • how to strategically build resumes and experiences over time

  • how to navigate college, internships, and future career pathways

Serena also focuses heavily on confidence building, communication skills, organization, accountability, and helping students develop the maturity and direction needed to navigate the modern world successfully.

Armaan Goraya

Armaan Goraya is a Computer Science student at George Mason University with experience in software development, artificial intelligence, and modern technology systems. His background includes hands on work with emerging technologies and technical tools that are rapidly shaping the future workforce.

At BuildBetter, Armaan focuses on helping students develop practical technical skills that many students are never formally taught, despite how valuable they have become across nearly every career path.

He works with students on:

  • how to use AI tools effectively and responsibly

  • Excel and spreadsheet proficiency

  • productivity and organization systems

  • digital literacy

  • presentations and workflow tools

  • building confidence with modern technology

Armaan is passionate about helping students feel comfortable and confident using the kinds of tools and technologies that are increasingly expected in both college and professional environments.

Together, Serena and Armaan created BuildBetter with the belief that students today need more than just academic success alone.

They need mentorship, direction, adaptability, technical fluency, and real world readiness in order to confidently navigate a rapidly changing world.
